1. A method of receiving a non-real time (NRT) service, the method comprising:

  • receiving in a reception unit an MPEG-2 transport stream (TS), wherein the MPEG-2 TS includes internet protocol (IP) datagrams which carry NRT content items/files for the NRT service, an NRT content table, the NRT content table containing information describing content items, and an NRT service table containing service-level attributes for the NRT service;

    parsing in a processor the NRT content items/files, the NRT content table and the NRT service table; and

    wherein the NRT content items/files, the NRT content table and the NRT service table are encapsulated based on a User Datagram Protocol/Internet Protocol (UDP/IP) method,wherein the NRT content items/files is further encapsulated based on a File Delivery over Unidirectional Transport (FLUTE) method and an Asynchronous Layered Coding/Layered Coding Transport (ALC/LCT) method,wherein the processor parses first information linking between the NRT content table and the NRT service table, second information identifying the content items/files and being used to map one or more files carried on the FLUTE file delivery session for the NRT service to content items from the NRT content table, third information identifying the NRT service from the NRT service table, the NRT service table being linked to the NRT content table through the third information of the NRT service table, and fourth information indicating that a category of a service is an NRT service from the NRT service table,wherein the NRT content table and the NRT service table are received via a service signaling channel (SSC) with a specific IP address and UDP port number, andwherein the second information is unique within a single content item for the NRT service.
