1. A method for advancing a surgical clip through an elongate shaft of a surgical clip applier, comprising:
- distally advancing a feed bar within the elongate shaft of the surgical clip applier such that the feed bar, which includes a plurality of detents, drives a distal-most clip disposed within the elongate shaft into a jaw assembly, and such that the feed bar directly engages and distally drives a feeder shoe disposed within the elongate shaft by one of the plurality of detents engaging a first tang on the feeder shoe and thereby distally advances at least one additional surgical clip disposed within the elongate shaft without the feed bar contacting the at least one additional surgical clip.

Abstract
A surgical clip applier and methods for applying surgical clips to a vessel, duct, shunt, etc., during a surgical procedure are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, a surgical clip applier is provided having a housing with a trigger movably coupled thereto and an elongate shaft extending therefrom with opposed jaws formed on a distal end thereof. The trigger is adapted to advance a clip to position the clip between the jaws, and to move the jaws from an open position to a closed position to crimp the clip positioned therebetween.

10. A method for advancing a surgical clip, comprising:
actuating a trigger on a clip applier device to distally advance a feed bar within an elongate shaft and thereby advance a distal-most clip into opposed jaws formed on a distal end of the elongate shaft, the feed bar having a plurality of detents that directly engage a feeder shoe to distally advance the feeder shoe and at least one additional clip through the elongate shaft without contacting the at least one additional clip. - View Dependent Claims (11, 12, 13, 14, 15)

16. A method for advancing surgical clips within a clip applier, comprising:
-
closing a trigger to advance a feed bar distally to move a distal-most clip into opposed jaws of the clip applier, the feed bar directly engaging a feeder shoe disposed proximal to a proximal-most clip to move the feeder shoe distally without the feed bar contacting the proximal-most clip, the feeder shoe having a tang that engages one of a plurality of detents formed in the feed bar during distal movement thereof; and opening the trigger to retract the feed bar proximally, the feed bar disengaging from the feeder shoe such that the feeder shoe remains stationary as the feed bar moves proximally. - View Dependent Claims (17, 18)
