Cermet-containing bushing for an implantable medical device
First Claim
1. An electrical bushing for an implantable medical device, having an annulus-like holding element for holding the electrical bushing in the implantable medical device, wherebythe holding element comprises a through-opening;
- at least one elongated conduction element extends through the through-opening and is configured to transmit electrical signals between inside and outside the implantable medical device;
an insulation element comprising aluminum oxide for forming a hermetic seal between the holding element and the conduction element is arranged in the through-opening;
characterized in that the at least one conduction element comprises cermet such that cermet is adjacent the insulation element thereby forming the hermetic seal therebetween without welding or soldering and in that the cermet comprises aluminum oxide in a metallic matrix.
