1. A nucleic acid molecule comprising a recombinant polynucleotide selected from the group consisting of:

  • (a) a polynucleotide comprising the nucleic acid sequence of SEQ ID NO;

    841;

    (b) a polynucleotide comprising at least 95% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO;

    841;

    (c) a fragment of at least 23 contiguous nucleotides of a nucleic acid sequence of SEQ ID NO;

    841, wherein ingestion by a corn rootworm of a double stranded ribonucleotide sequence comprising at least one strand that is complementary to said fragment inhibits the growth of said corn rootworm; and

    (d) a complement of the sequence of (a), (b), or (c);

    wherein said nucleic acid molecule further comprises a heterologous promoter operably linked to said recombinant polynucleotide.
