1. A Light Emitting Diode (LED) assembly comprising:

  • a substrate having a first substrate terminal, a second substrate terminal, a third substrate terminal, and a fourth substrate terminal;

    a first blue LED die or plurality of series-connected blue LED dice having a first end coupled to the first substrate terminal, and having a second end coupled to the second substrate terminal;

    a second blue LED die or plurality of series-connected blue LED dice having a first end coupled to the second substrate terminal, and having a second end coupled to the third substrate terminal;

    a third blue LED die or plurality of series-connected blue LED dice having a first end coupled to the third substrate terminal, and having a second end coupled to the fourth substrate terminal; and

    a single contiguous amount of phosphor that covers the first blue LED or plurality of series-connected blue LED dice, that covers the second blue LED or plurality of series-connected blue LED dice, that covers the third blue LED or plurality of series-connected blue LED dice, and that contacts the substrate, wherein the single contiguous amount of phosphor does not cover any of the first, second, third and fourth substrate terminals.
