1. A method for wireless communication, said method comprising:

  • receiving, at a base station from a subscriber station, data corresponding to a measured one or more channel characteristics of a plurality of orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) subcarriers hosted by a first antenna resource and a second antenna resource located at the base station, the measured one or more channel characteristics being indicative of reception quality for a corresponding OFDMA subcarrier of the plurality of OFDMA subcarriers, and the first antenna resource and the second antenna resource including a plurality of antennas;

    assigning one or more OFDMA subcarriers of the plurality of OFDMA subcarriers, said assigning being based at least on the measured one or more channel characteristics of the first antenna resource and the second antenna resource, and at least one OFDMA subcarrier of the plurality of OFDMA subcarriers of said assigning being different from the first antenna resource and the second antenna resource;

    sending, to the subscriber station, a notification of said assigning;

    receiving, periodically, from the subscriber station to the base station, updated data corresponding to periodically measured one or more channel characteristics;

    reassigning one or more reassigned OFDMA subcarriers of the plurality of OFDMA subcarriers, said reassigning being based at least on the updated data corresponding to the periodically measured one or more channel characteristics of the first antenna resource and the second antenna resource; and

    sending, from the base station to the subscriber station, a notification of said reassigning.
