1. A method comprising:

  • communicating, by an access point, with a plurality of subscriber terminals wirelessly, wherein the access point comprises a hardware integrated circuit, wherein the access point comprises an internet protocol multicast enabled access point, wherein the access point provides multicasting and routing functions related to an internet protocol push-to-talk service and supports a protocol for a quality of service enabled wireless local area network, and wherein the access point further provides a voice over internet protocol telephony service, wherein the communicating with the plurality of subscriber terminals wirelessly comprises exchanging voice, data and multimedia information; and

    communicating, by the access point, with a broadband access network terminal, wherein the access point provides information exchange between additional access points, the broadband access network terminal and a wireless local area network mobile radio service controller via an internet protocol network of a service provider.
