1. A method for prohibiting interference with operation of an implanted medical device (IMD) comprising:

  • in response to performance of a function by an electronic device, detecting of an implanted medical device (IMD) of an implantee within an effective proximity to the electronic device by an IMD safety control module coupled with the electronic device, wherein performance of the function by the electronic device is known to have a potential to cause at least one adverse effect to at least one of a treatment provided by the implanted medical device and operation of the implanted medical device within the effective proximity, wherein the implanted medical device is an active implanted medical device having wireless communication capabilities;

    disabling performance of the function by the electronic device;

    requesting resolution from an operator of the electronic device to accommodate the implanted medical device detected within the effective proximity; and

    upon receipt of said resolution, enabling performance of the function by the electronic device.
