1. A high strength polymer-based subsonic ammunition comprising:

  • an upper component, molded from a polymer, comprising;

    a first end having a mouth and a neck; and

    at least an upper inner wall between the first end and a second end of the upper component opposite the first end, and having a first slope;

    a projectile having a standard weight removably engaged with the mouth;

    a lower component, molded from a polymer, joined to the upper component, comprising at least a lower inner wall between the upper component and a flash hole and having a second slope; and

    a propellant chamber formed by the upper and lower inner walls, the first slope does not equal the second slope, and the first and second slopes are configured to reduce a volume of the propellant chamber to permit only enough propellant to propel the projectile at subsonic speeds.
