1. A cortical electrode assembly having selectable electrode sites comprising:

  • a) a first flexible electrode body having a planar configuration with an upper surface and a lower surface, said lower surface having a plurality of electrode contacts, said first electrode body further having a plurality of thru-holes; and

    b) a second electrode body having a grommet-like structure with at least one electrode contact, said grommet-like structure having a radial channel for fixing said second electrode body in a selected thru-hole of said first electrode body, whereby upon placement of said second electrode body in a selected thru-hole provides addition of said at least one electrode contact of said second electrode body to said plurality of electrode contacts of said first electrode body and for said cortical electrode assembly.
