1. A medication-delivery method comprising:

  • inserting a portion of an infusion device into a living being, the infusion device comprising;

    a body having a body passageway and a greatest outer perimeter;

    a cannula having a portion extending from the body and a cannula passageway; and

    a septum coupled to the body;

    where the cannula has a portion that is above the living being'"'"'s skin after the inserting that is positioned within the greatest outer perimeter of the body, the body passageway includes an inwardly-tapered portion beneath the septum, and the infusion device is configured such that any injection needle that penetrates and exits the septum to deliver medication to the living being will exit the septum into open space or into an inwardly-tapered portion of the body passageway;

    the inserting including inserting an insertion needle through the septum and the cannula passageway, thereby causing the insertion needle to contact the living being;

    inserting an injection needle through the septum; and

    delivering medication to the living being through the injection needle from a source that is not connected to a pump.
