1. A method of making an analyte sensor, the method comprising:
- forming a first electrode of the sensor, the forming of the first electrode comprising;
applying a conductive layer onto a substrate; and
simultaneously sputtering a first material from a first target and a second material from a second target over the conductive layer to produce an insoluble layer comprising the first and second materials,wherein the first target and the second target are different, andwherein the first material is silver and the second material is silver chloride or wherein the first material is silver and the second material is silver bromide.
