Online shopping using NFC and a mobile device
First Claim
1. A mobile device comprising:
- a mobile device display;
a mobile device memory configured to maintain a non browser based mobile application, the mobile application including a virtual shopping list of items;
a mobile device processor configured to execute the mobile application;
a secure element coupled to the mobile device, the secure element including;
a secure element memory storing a near field communication (NFC) application, the secure element memory configured to receive a user identification code and an item selection from the virtual shopping list of the mobile application; and
a secure element processor configured to execute the NFC application, operating at an application layer above a physical layer in response to an NFC interaction triggered from a terminal NFC transceiver included in a point of sale (POS) terminal to the secure element, without communication with the mobile device, andwherein the NFC application transmits, using a first communication channel configured for NFC, transaction data including the user identification code and the selected item for purchase to the POS terminal for subsequent processing at a management server, the user identification code and selected item for purchase received from the mobile application prior to the NFC interaction.
