a spring operatively connected to the outer cannula and the inner cannula,wherein the spring is configured to fire the outer cannula in a distal direction relative to the surgical device,wherein the spring is configured to move the inner cannula in a proximal direction relative to the surgical device,wherein the outer cannula is configured such to retract in the proximal direction relative to the surgical device in response to fluid pressure, andwherein the inner cannula is configured to move in the distal direction relative to the surgical device in response to fluid pressure.

A surgical system is disclosed. The surgical system comprises a housing, a surgical device and an adapter. The housing includes a distal end. The surgical device comprises, a cutting element extending from the housing at the distal end. The cutting element is selectively rotated and translated relative to a tissue biopsy area. The adapter is configured to selectively and detachably receive the surgical device. The adapter secures the surgical device thereto by at least one latching mechanism such that the surgical device is prevented from moving independently from the adapter.

an outer cannula; -
an inner cannula slidably disposed in the outer cannula; and a spring operatively connected to the outer cannula and the inner cannula, wherein the spring is configured to fire the outer cannula in a distal direction relative to the surgical device, wherein the spring is configured to move the inner cannula in a proximal direction relative to the surgical device, wherein the outer cannula is configured such to retract in the proximal direction relative to the surgical device in response to fluid pressure, and wherein the inner cannula is configured to move in the distal direction relative to the surgical device in response to fluid pressure. - View Dependent Claims (2, 3, 4, 5)
