1. An optical apparatus configured to temporarily attach to an optical sensor, the optical apparatus comprising:

  • a releasable connector for temporarily attaching the optical sensor to the optical apparatus;

    an attachment layer for attaching the optical apparatus to a patient'"'"'s skin;

    an apparatus body having a first side towards the optical sensor and a second side towards the patient'"'"'s skin, at least a portion of the body being transparent to allow light to pass from the first side to the second side;

    a focusing lens on the first side of the apparatus body, the focusing lens configured to receive light from the optical sensor; and

    a protruding surface on the second side of the apparatus body, the protruding surface configured to concentrate pressure on the patient'"'"'s skin;

    wherein the focusing lens is configured to direct light received from the optical sensor through the transparent portion of the apparatus body and the protruding surface onto the patient'"'"'s skin.
