1. An implantable cardiac device comprising electrodes for receiving cardiac signals and operational circuitry for processing the cardiac signals received by the electrodes;

  • in which the operational circuitry is configured to;

    receive signals via the electrodes;

    detect events in the received signals by comparing the received signals to one or more thresholds and identifying threshold crossings;

    determine which, if any, of the detected events are noisy;

    determine whether a noise condition has been detected; and

    if a noise condition has been detected, enable a baseline correction method to ensure that the noise that caused the noise condition does not induce a baseline offset and thereby impair sensing.
