1. A vein removal device, comprising:

  • a housing longitudinally extending from a first end portion to a second end portion;

    a blade element, including a cutting edge, disposed at least partially within the first end portion of the housing;

    a hook element disposed at the second end portion of the housing; and

    a first user input device, operably coupled to the blade element, actuatable from and between a resting position and a depressed position along angular direction relative to the extension of the housing,wherein actuation of the first user input device from the resting position toward the depressed position causes the blade element to move relative to the housing from a retracted position within the first end portion to an extension position in which the cutting edge is selectively exposed a distance that is proportionate to an amount of actuation of the first user input device.
