1. A portable computing device comprising:
- a display;
a detection device;
a transmission device;
memory for storing instructions that are executable by processor electronics;
processor electronics configured to execute the instructions in order to;
detect a first signal from a reader in response to the computing device entering a specific geolocation;
in response to detection of the first signal, recall content from the memory and display the content on the display as well as transmit a reference to an identity of the content to the reader, wherein the reference to the identity of the content is configured to be added to a user profile;
detect a second signal from the reader produced when the reader detects the content reference transmission;
recall other content from the memory for display and transmit a reference to an identity of the other content upon detection of the second signal from the reader; and
associate the computing device with the user profile, wherein the user profile is comprised of at least;
1) a user characteristic; and
2) a statistical probability associated with said user characteristic, said user characteristic and statistical probability based at least upon a user content affinity input and a reference to an identity of content transmitted from the computing device, wherein the user characteristic and statistical probability are configurable as components in an interest graph in which the user characteristic is represented as an interest graph node and the statistical probability is represented as an interest graph link connecting the interest graph node to another interest graph node.

Abstract
An input and processing system allows user input information such as user affinity to efficiently determine user characteristics from content as well as novel input of commands such as copy/paste on a small mobile device screen among other computing devices. A client/server is also made more efficient due to the enhanced gathering of information. Also disclosed is a system for rapid presentation of information such as barcodes at barcode scanners. A system can request multiple barcodes, coupons or the like by detecting a signal from a scanner that information presented has been read.

6. A non-transitory computer readable media having instructions stored thereon that are executable by a portable computing device to:
-
display one or more items of content to a user; detect a selection by the user of at least one item of content displayed; in response to the detection of the selected content, determining if the selected content includes any related information; configuring a reference to an identity of the selected content and any related information to be used to update a profile of likely characteristics of the user based on the selected content and the information related to the selected content, wherein the profile is comprised of a likely user characteristic and an associated statistical probability, said likely user characteristic and statistical probability based at least upon a plurality of user content selection inputs, wherein the likely user characteristic and statistical probability are configurable as components in an interest graph in which the likely user characteristic is represented as an interest graph node and the statistical probability is represented as an interest graph link connecting the interest graph node to another interest graph node; and update the profile with the reference to an identity of the selected content and any related information. - View Dependent Claims (7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12)

13. A non-transitory computer readable media having instructions stored thereon that are executable by a portable computing device to:
-
tag an item of content with one or more likely characteristics that are attributed to persons that react to the item either favorably or unfavorably; display the content for a user; detect a gesture performed by the user directed towards the content; and update a profile that indicates one or more likely characteristics of the user with the characteristics represented by the tag and an associated statistical probability, said one or more likely characteristics and associated statistical probability based on the detected gesture directed towards the content, wherein the one or more likely characteristics and statistical probability are configurable as components in an interest graph in which a likely characteristic is represented as an interest graph node and a statistical probability is represented as an interest graph link connecting the interest graph node to another interest graph node. - View Dependent Claims (14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20)
