1. A method of recapturing a replacement heart valve apparatus, comprising:
- endovascularly delivering a replacement valve and an expandable anchor within a delivery device to a vicinity of a heart valve, wherein the expandable anchor has a delivery configuration, a partially deployed, self-expanded configuration, and a fully expanded configuration, and comprises a proximal end and a plurality of posts;
allowing the anchor to self-expand from the delivery configuration in the delivery device to the partially deployed, self-expanded configuration in the vicinity of the heart valve and actively foreshortening the anchor by applying a distally directed force to the proximal end of the expandable anchor and simultaneously applying a proximal force to at least one of the posts; and
retrieving the expandable anchor within the delivery device, wherein retrieving the expandable anchor comprises collapsing the expandable anchor from the partially deployed, self-expanded configuration to the delivery configuration.
