1. A ureteral stent, comprising:

  • a tubular body defining a lumen, the tubular body being of a length that extends from a kidney of a patient to a portion of a ureter between a bladder of the patient and the kidney such that a proximal end of the tubular body terminates in the portion of the ureter between the bladder and the kidney, a distal region of the tubular body including a retention structure configured to help retain the ureteral stent within the kidney; and

    at least one filament extending from the proximal end of the tubular body, the at least one filament being of a length that extends from the portion of the ureter between the bladder and the kidney to a location within the bladder, wherein the at least one filament is configured to transfer fluid received from the proximal end of the tubular body to the bladder along a surface of the at least one filament.
