1. A method ofassembling a multi-well assay plate comprising introducing a multi-well assay module comprising an array of wells, into a plate frame that defines one or more apertures for receiving and holding one or more of said multi-well assay modules, wherein each assay module comprises:

  • (i) an array of wells with integrated electrodes,(ii) a module lip,(iii) a snap fit element extending from said module, said snap fit element positioned below said lip, wherein said lip and said snap fit element are configured to engage said plate frame,(iv) a module top comprising a plurality of through-holes that form the walls of said array of wells, and(v) a module bottom forming the bottom of said array of wells, and said plate frame further comprising a frame lip that extends into said one or more apertures, thereby engaging said module lip and said snap fit element within said plate frame,wherein an assembled assay plate comprises said array of wells with integrated electrodes.
