A patient support apparatus comprisinga frame having a head end and a foot end,a footboard coupled to the frame adjacent a foot end of the frame, anda first lamp module and a second lamp module, the first and second lamp modules being coupled to the frame adjacent the foot end, the first lamp module being spaced apart from the second lamp module, at least a portion of the first and second lamp modules extending downwardly beyond a bottom edge of the footboard and being observable below the footboard, the first and second lamp modules both being operated to emit light of a first color when a set of monitored bed status conditions are all in a satisfactory condition, the first and second lamp modules each being operated to emit light of a second color when at least one of the set of monitored bed status conditions is in an unsatisfactory condition.

a frame having a head end and a foot end, a footboard coupled to the frame adjacent a foot end of the frame, and a first lamp module and a second lamp module, the first and second lamp modules being coupled to the frame adjacent the foot end, the first lamp module being spaced apart from the second lamp module, at least a portion of the first and second lamp modules extending downwardly beyond a bottom edge of the footboard and being observable below the footboard, the first and second lamp modules both being operated to emit light of a first color when a set of monitored bed status conditions are all in a satisfactory condition, the first and second lamp modules each being operated to emit light of a second color when at least one of the set of monitored bed status conditions is in an unsatisfactory condition.

16. A patient support apparatus comprising
a base frame, an upper frame supported above the based frame, the upper frame having a head end and a foot end, and a first lamp module having a first lens and a second lamp module having a second lens, the first and second lamp modules being coupled to the upper frame adjacent the foot end, the first lamp module being spaced apart from the second lamp module, the first and second lamp modules both being operated to emit light of a first color through the respective first and second lenses when a set of monitored bed status conditions are all in a satisfactory condition, the first and second lamp modules both being operated to emit light of a second color through the respective first and second lenses when at least one of the set of monitored bed status conditions is in an unsatisfactory condition such that the light of the first and second colors is emitted through each of the first and second lenses at different times.
