1. A releasable tether retention system comprising:
- a housing;
a movable member movably mounted within the housing;
a sliding element coupled to the movable member so as to move with the movable member and so as to be extendible to an exterior of the housing to engage a tether,wherein the movable member has a base portion and a first wall extending from an edge of the base portion in a first direction to define a first cavity, wherein the sliding element has a first portion and a second portion extending from the first portion, and wherein the first portion is positioned and secured within the first cavity,and wherein the system further comprises at least one fluid flow passage extending between a first side of the sliding element first portion to a second side of the sliding element first portion opposite the first side, andwherein the first portion includes a plurality of outwardly extending lobes, and wherein the at least one fluid flow passage is defined by the moving member first wall and a space between adjacent lobes of the plurality of lobes.
