1. A catheter connection system, comprising:
- a cannula in fluid communication with a tube;
a collet having a length surrounding the cannula with an inner surface spaced from an outer surface of the cannula to permit passage of a catheter wall therebetween, the collet including at least two locking arms, each locking arm including at least one protrusion; and
a collar including a compression ring incorporated into a distal section thereof and at least two recesses in a proximal section that receive, respectively, the at least one protrusion on each locking arm to secure the collar to the collet.

Abstract
A catheter connection system and a method of connecting the catheter connection system to a catheter. The catheter connection system includes a hub assembly and a collar. The hub assembly includes a cannula extending from a distal end thereof, and a collet defining an inner surface spaced apart from the cannula to permit passage of a catheter wall between the body and the cannula.

7. A method of connecting a catheter connection system to a catheter, comprising:
-
inserting a cannula into a lumen of a catheter to position an outer wall of the catheter between the cannula and a collet, the collet including at least two locking arms, each locking arm including at least one protrusion; sliding a collar over the catheter and collet toward a proximal end of the collet, the collar including a compression ring incorporated into a distal section thereof and at least two recesses sized to receive, respectively, the at least one protrusion on each locking arm; and moving the collet locking arm protrusions into the collar recesses to secure the collar to the collet. - View Dependent Claims (8, 9, 10)
