1. A method for driving a liquid crystal display device comprising a plurality of pixels in a display portion and configured to perform display in a plurality of frame periods, wherein each of the plurality of frame periods includes a writing period and a holding period, wherein after an image signal is input to each of the plurality of pixels in the writing period, a transistor included in each of the plurality of pixels is turned off and the image signal is held for at least 30 seconds in the holding period, wherein the transistor comprises a semiconductor layer including an oxide semiconductor, wherein a concentration of hydrogen in the oxide semiconductor, which is measured by secondary ion mass spectrometry, is 5×

  • 1019/cm3 or less, andwherein the display portion includes a liquid crystal layer comprising any one selected from a twisted nematic (TN) mode, an in-plane-switching (IPS) mode, a fringe field switching (FFS) mode, an axially symmetric aligned micro-cell (ASM) mode, an optical compensated birefringence (OCB) mode, a vertical alignment (VA) mode and a blue phase.
