1. A method for providing an input device, comprising:
- providing a device with a first touch screen display and a second touch screen display;
presenting, by the first touch screen display of the device, a first selectable set of virtual keys;
wherein the first selectable set of virtual keys comprises a first portion of a single virtual keyboard displayed across both the first and second touch screen displays;
receiving a first input from a user, wherein the first input includes a first swipe gesture in an area of the first touch screen display corresponding to the displayed first selectable set of virtual keys;
receiving a second input from a user, wherein the second input includes a second swipe gesture in the area of the first or second touch screen displays; and
presenting, by the second input by the user, a second selectable set of virtual keys;
wherein the second selectable set of the virtual keys comprises a second portion of the single virtual keyboard displayed across both the first and second touch screen displays;
wherein the virtual keyboard presents a user interface where the first selectable set of virtual keys moves in a direction of the second swipe gesture to display the second selectable set of virtual keys; and
wherein the first portion of the first selectable set of virtual keys can be displayed simultaneously as a first portion of the second selectable set of virtual keys is displayed as part of the virtual keyboard.

Abstract
Methods and devices for the display of virtual keyboards are provided. More particularly, virtual keyboards that include selectable sets of virtual keys that can be selected or changed through direct input by a user are provided. The user input can include a touch screen input or gesture applied to an area of a display in which a selectable set of virtual keys is presented. The touch screen input or swipe can cause the displayed selectable set of virtual keys to be replaced by an alternate selectable set of virtual keys.

a first touch screen display and a second touch screen display; memory; a processor; application programming stored in the memory and executed by the processor, wherein the application programming is operable to; display a first selectable set of virtual keys; receive a first swipe gesture input entered in the first touch screen display; display the first selectable set of virtual keys across both the first and the second touch screen displays; receive a second swipe gesture input in the first or second touch screen display; display a second selectable set of virtual keys across both the first and the second touch screen displays, wherein the second selectable set of virtual keys move in the direction of the swipe gesture and wherein a portion of the first selectable set of virtual keys can be displayed simultaneously as a portion of the second selectable set of virtual keys. - View Dependent Claims (9, 10, 11, 12)

13. A non-transitory computer readable medium having stored thereon computer-executable instructions, the computer executable instructions causing a processor to execute a method for displaying selectable virtual key sets, the computer executable instructions comprising:

instructions to display a first selectable set of virtual keys on a first touch screen display and a second touch screen display, wherein the first selectable set of virtual keys comprises a single virtual keyboard; instructions to determine whether at least a first swipe gesture input has been received in an area of the touch screen corresponding to the displayed first selectable set of virtual keys; and instructions to display a second selectable set of virtual keys on the touch screen in place of the first selectable set of virtual keys in response to the at least first swipe gesture, wherein a second selectable set of virtual keys comprises a single virtual keyboard displayed across both the first and the second touch screen displays. - View Dependent Claims (14, 15, 16, 17)
