1. A method for calibration of a capacitive touch digitizer system, the method comprising:
- detecting patterns of signals from a plurality of different touch events and a plurality of different lift events over a course of user interaction with the capacitive touch digitizer system, wherein the patterns of signals are outputs from a digitizer sensor of the capacitive touch digitizer system;
determining a number of times that a pattern of signals from the patterns of signals detected is repeated over different events;
identifying that the pattern of signals that is repeated represents a pattern of signals from a lift event, responsive to the number of repetitions being above a pre-defined repletion threshold; and
defining a map of offset values as the pattern of signals that is repeated above the pre-defined repetition threshold.

Abstract
A method for calibration of a capacitive touch digitizer system comprises detecting patterns of signals from a plurality of different events over a course of user interaction with the digitizer system, wherein the patterns of signals are outputs from a digitizer sensor of the system, determining a number of times that a pattern of signals is repeated over the different events, and defining a map of offset values as a pattern of signals that is repeated above a pre-defined repetition threshold.

59. A method for detecting a drag event performed on a capacitive touch digitizer system, wherein a drag event is a period over which an object is dragged along a digitizer sensor of the capacitive touch digitizer system, the method comprising:
-
detecting a patterns of signals from at least a current event and a a pattern of signals from a previous events over a course of user interaction with the capacitive touch digitizer system, wherein the patterns of signals are outputs from a grid based digitizer sensor of the capacitive touch digitizer system, said pattern of signals forming a two dimensional image; calculating a delta patterns, wherein the delta pattern is the difference between a pattern of signals from the previous event and a pattern of signals from the current event; and determining that the previous event is a drag event, responsive to identifying a change in sign across the delta pattern. - View Dependent Claims (60, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68, 69, 70)
