1. A method for updating data on a remote device, the method comprising:
- defining a plurality of channels on a remote device, each channel associated with a predetermined category of content, the content including information delivered to the remote device over a wireless network and stored on the remote device for displaying on the remote device, wherein content updates for the plurality of channels are automatically delivered to the remote device over the wireless network;
identifying an update frequency for each channel, wherein the update frequency for a channel corresponds to a time interval for delivering the content updates for the channel;
determining a most frequent update frequency among the plurality of channels defined on the remote device; and
requesting the content updates for the plurality of channels according to the most frequent update frequency.
