1. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a plurality of instructions for controlling a processor, the plurality of instructions comprising:
- instructions that cause the processor to enable customizability parameters to be configured for a hierarchy of elements of an application including at least a first element and a second element that is descended from the first element, wherein each element of the application is associated with a customizability parameter that indicates whether the associated element is customizable, and wherein the customizability parameter is automatically inherited by descendants of the element;
instructions that cause the processor to identify a subset of elements of the hierarchy of elements as being customizable,wherein each element in the subset of elements is associated with a customizability parameter that indicates that the element is customizable, andwherein any customizability parameter inherited by an element in the subset of elements indicates that the element is customizable; and
instructions that cause the processor allow each element in the subset of elements to be customized.

-
instructions that cause the processor to enable customizability parameters to be configured for a hierarchy of elements of an application including at least a first element and a second element that is descended from the first element, wherein each element of the application is associated with a customizability parameter that indicates whether the associated element is customizable, and wherein the customizability parameter is automatically inherited by descendants of the element; instructions that cause the processor to identify a subset of elements of the hierarchy of elements as being customizable, wherein each element in the subset of elements is associated with a customizability parameter that indicates that the element is customizable, and wherein any customizability parameter inherited by an element in the subset of elements indicates that the element is customizable; and instructions that cause the processor allow each element in the subset of elements to be customized. - View Dependent Claims (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8)

9. A system comprising:
-
a memory configured to store data for an application, the application comprising a hierarchy of elements including at least a first element and a second element, wherein the second element is descended from the first element; and a processor communicatively coupled with the memory, the processor configured to; enable customizability parameters to be configured for each element in the hierarchy of elements, wherein each element of the application is associated with a customizability parameter that indicates whether the associated element is customizable, and wherein the customizability parameter is automatically inherited by descendants of the element; identify a subset of elements of the hierarchy of elements as being customizable, wherein each element in the subset of elements is associated with a customizability parameter that indicates that the element is customizable, and wherein any customizability parameter inherited by an element in the subset of elements indicates that the element is customizable; and allow each element in the subset of elements to be customized. - View Dependent Claims (10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15)

16. A method comprising:
-
enabling, by a processing system, customizability parameters to be configured for a hierarchy of elements of an application including at least a first element and a second element that is descended from the first element, wherein each element of the application is associated with a customizability parameter that indicates whether the associated element is customizable, and wherein the customizability parameter is automatically inherited by descendants of the element; identifying, by the processing system, a subset of elements of the hierarchy of elements as being customizable, wherein each element in the subset of elements is associated with a customizability parameter that indicates that the element is customizable, and wherein any customizability parameter inherited by an element in the subset of elements indicates that the element is customizable; and allowing each element in the subset of elements to be customized. - View Dependent Claims (17, 18, 19, 20)
