  • excising tissue by rotating a rotatable tissue harvesting tip formed at a distal end of a rotatable shaft;

    transporting the excised tissue to a tissue collection device via a vacuum force; and

    collecting the excised tissue in a tissue collection chamber, collection of the excised tissue causing linear sliding movement of the tissue collection chamber within a container extending between an inlet port and an outlet port of the tissue collection device along a longitudinal axis extending between the inlet port and the outlet port, wherein the tissue collection chamber includes a first portion that is sized to prevent tissue and fluid from passing between the tissue collection chamber and a sidewall of the container, as well as a second portion that is proximal to the first portion and allows fluid to pass through the tissue collection chamber while retaining the excised tissue, and wherein displacement of the tissue collection chamber indicates an amount of the excised tissue collected in the tissue collection chamber.
