Prosthetic valve for transluminal delivery
First Claim
1. A prosthetic valve comprising:
- a valve assembly comprising a base, a plurality of leaflets, and commissures;
a support stent comprisinga first row defining a first plurality of expandable cells;
a second row defining a second plurality of expandable cells; and
a plurality of longitudinal struts each comprising a proximal end portion and a distal end portion,wherein the first row is directly connected to the proximal end portion of each of the plurality of longitudinal struts,wherein the second row is directly connected to the distal end portion of each of the plurality of longitudinal struts,wherein the support stent is configured to be collapsible for transluminal delivery and expandable to contact the anatomical annulus of the native valve when the prosthetic valve is positioned in situ,wherein the support stent supports the base,wherein the longitudinal struts of the support stent further comprise a plurality of holes, wherein the plurality of holes are entirely distal to the first row, andwherein the commissures of the valve assembly are secured directly to the longitudinal struts via threads passing through both the plurality of holes and the commissures.

Abstract
A prosthetic valve comprises a valve assembly having a base, a plurality of leaflets, and commissures. The valve also comprises a support stent having a plurality of expandable cells and a plurality of longitudinal struts. The support stent is configured to be collapsible for transluminal delivery and expandable to contact the anatomical annulus of the native valve when the prosthetic valve is positioned in situ. The support stent supports the base. The commissures of the valve assembly are secured at the longitudinal struts and adjacent one or more of the expandable cells. The longitudinal struts of the support stent further comprise a plurality of holes, and the plurality of leaflets are secured to the longitudinal struts via threads passing through the plurality of holes.

6. A prosthetic valve comprising:
-
a valve assembly comprising an inlet, a plurality of leaflets, and commissural points; a support stent comprising a mesh-like construction comprising a plurality of expandable cells; and a plurality of longitudinal support beams each comprising a proximal end portion directly connected to at least one of the plurality of expandable cells and a distal end portion directly connected to at least one of the plurality of expandable cells, wherein the support stent is configured to be collapsible for transluminal delivery and expandable to contact the anatomical annulus of the native valve when the prosthetic valve is positioned in situ, wherein the support stent supports the inlet, wherein the longitudinal support beams of the support stent define a plurality of openings, wherein the plurality of openings are entirely distal to at least one of the plurality of expandable cells, and wherein the plurality of commissure points are secured directly to the longitudinal support beams via threads passing through both the plurality of holes and the commissure points. - View Dependent Claims (7, 8, 9, 10)
