1. A device for measuring an analyte in a host, the device comprising:

  • a wire sensor configured to measure an analyte in a host, wherein the wire sensor comprises one or more electroactive surfaces at a distal portion of the wire sensor and one or more connection surfaces circumscribing at least a portion of the periphery of a proximal portion of the wire sensor, wherein the one or more connection surfaces are configured to operably connect the wire sensor to sensor electronics;

    one or more electrical contacts configured to press against the one or more connection surfaces and configured to operably connect the one or more connection surfaces to the sensor electronics; and

    a sealing member configured to surround the one or more electrical contacts.
