Abstract

In a system in which a facsimile apparatus is connected to a LAN (Local Area Network) to which a plurality of computer terminals are connected, image data obtained by reading an original image by the scanner of the facsimile apparatus under the control of the operation unit of the facsimile apparatus is transmitted to a destination designated by the operation unit. In this operation, if a user ID is designated, transmitted image data and information (destination, transmission time/date, or the like) related to transmission is transferred to the LAN to notify the information to a user corresponding to the user ID. In this manner, data communication performed by a local operation of the facsimile apparatus and data communication performed by a remote designation from the computer terminal can be managed together.

Claims

1. An image processing apparatus comprising:

a reading unit configured to read an image on an original and generate image data based on the read image;

a transmitting unit configured to perform transmission of the image data generated by the reading unit;

a receiving unit configured to receive, from an information processing apparatus, a request for sending log information regarding the transmission of the image data and to receive print data, the request being received by the receiving unit after the transmitting unit transmits the image data;

a printing unit configured to print an image on a sheet based on the print data received by the receiving unit; and

a sending unit configured to send, to the information processing apparatus, the log information in accordance with the request received by the receiving unit.

2. An image processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the sending unit further sends the image data which has been transmitted by the transmitting unit.

3. An image processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the sending unit sends the log information corresponding to a user who requests the log information in accordance with the request received by the receiving unit.

4. An image processing apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising a storage unit configured to store the image data which has been transmitted by the transmitting unit.

An image processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the log information regarding the transmission of the image data includes at least one of a transmission destination of the image data, transmission start time, transmission end time, transmission time, transmission result and a number of transmission pages.

6. A control method for controlling an image processing apparatus comprising:

reading an image on an original and generating image data based on the read image;

performing transmission of the generated image data;

receiving, from an information processing apparatus, a request for sending log information regarding the transmission of the image data, the request being received after the image data is transmitted;

receiving print data;

printing an image on a sheet based on the received print data; and

sending, to the information processing apparatus, the log information in accordance with the received request.

7. A non-transitory computer readable storage medium for storing a computer program controlling an image processing apparatus, the computer program comprising:

a code to read an image on an original and generate image data based on the read image;

a code to perform transmission of the generated image data;

a code to receive, from an information processing apparatus, a request for sending log information regarding the transmission of the image data and to receive print data, the request being received after the image data is transmitted;

a code to print an image on a sheet based on the received print data; and

a code to send, to the information processing apparatus, the log information in accordance with the received request.

8. An image processing system including an image processing apparatus and an information processing apparatus,

wherein the image processing apparatus comprises:

a reading unit configured to read an image on an original and generate image data based on the read image;

a transmitting unit configured to perform transmission of the image data generated by the reading unit;

a receiving unit configured to receive, from the information processing apparatus, a request for sending, from the image processing apparatus to the information processing apparatus, log information regarding the transmission of the image data and to receive print data, the request being received by the receiving unit after the transmitting unit transmits the image data;

a printing unit configured to print an image on a sheet based on the print data received by the receiving unit; and

a sending unit configured to send, to the information processing apparatus, the log information unit in accordance with the request received by the receiving unit,

wherein the information processing apparatus comprises

an obtaining unit configured to obtain, from the image processing apparatus, the log information sent by the sending unit.
