1. A method of treating atrial fibrillation in a patient, the method comprising:
- delivering a catheter to AV nodal tissue of the patient;
fixating the catheter to the AV nodal tissue;
determining an occurrence of atrial fibrillation;
delivering a calcium channel blocker agent into the AV nodal tissue to increase AV nodal tissue refractoriness and decrease ventricular rate upon determining the occurrence of atrial fibrillation;
monitoring an electrical response by the heart to the calcium channel blocker agent via a closed loop system, wherein the electrical response comprises at least one of a parameter representative of AV nodal refractoriness and a parameter representative of ventricular rate, wherein the electrical response comprises at least AV conduction time; and
adjusting quantity of the delivered calcium channel blocker agent using the closed loop system based on at least one of the parameter representative of AV nodal refractoriness and the parameter representative of ventricular rate, wherein adjusting quantity of the delivered calcium channel blocker agent using the closed loop system is based at least on AV conduction time.

Abstract
Control of conduction through a heart is described. A lead with a proximal end and a distal end is provided. The distal end of the lead is inserted into a target area. An agent is delivered through the lead to the target area. Delivery of the agent is monitored via a closed loop feedback system.
