1. A method of determining provenance data to be transmitted from a first node to a second node at least partially in response to an operational status of the second node, the method at least partially implemented using hardware, the method comprising:

  • receiving, at a first node, data from a second node;

    determining, at the first node, at least partially from the received data, an operational status indicative of at least one of a bandwidth limit or a failure indication of the second node;

    generating, at the first node, one or more index values based at least partially on at least one of the operational status, the bandwidth limit, or the failure indication, the one or more index values corresponding to one or more possible provenance inclusion modes determinable from at least one of a failure data base of one or more similar cases or a suggestion database of one or more similar cases;

    determining, at the first node, a provenance inclusion mode based at least partially on the one or more index values and the at least one of the failure data base of one or more similar cases or the suggestion database of one or more similar cases, the provenance inclusion mode at least partially determining at least one characteristic of provenance data to be transmitted from the first node to the second node, the at least one characteristic of provenance data being at least partially dependent upon at least one of the operational status, the bandwidth limit, or the failure indication; and

    determining, at the first node, provenance data for transmittal from the first node to the second node based at least partially on the determined provenance inclusion mode.
