1. A compound camera system for producing an image of a target, comprising:

  • a mount unit adaptably mountable to a vehicle, wherein the mount unit has an aperture formed in the mount unit between a first array and a second array and the target, and wherein the aperture is selected from a group consisting of a void, a screen, a window and an optical device not including a lens;

    the first array comprising a first imaging sensor having a first lens, disposed within the mount unit, and having a first focal axis;

    at least one second imaging sensor having at least a second lens, disposed within the mount unit and offset from the first imaging sensor in across track, cross-eyed fashion, and having at least a second focal axis, wherein the first and second focal axes pass through the aperture;

    the second array angularly disposed with respect to the first array, the second array comprising a third imaging sensor having a third lens, disposed within the mount unit, and having a third focal axis; and

    at least one fourth imaging sensor having at least a fourth lens, disposed within the mount and offset from the third imaging sensor in cross-eyed fashion, and having at least a third focal axis, wherein the third and fourth focal axes pass through the aperture.
