1. An organic light emitting diode comprising:

  • a first terminal formed on a first substrate of a display;

    a second terminal formed on a second substrate of the display; and

    a plurality of layers between the first terminal and the second terminal, the plurality of layers including a first portion and a second portion, the first portion being formed on a side of the first terminal, the second portion being formed on a side of the second terminal, the first and second portions being joined together such that the plurality of layers are in between the first terminal and the second terminal;

    first spacers included in the first portion of the plurality of layers; and

    second spacers included in the second portion of the plurality of layers, aligned such that the first spacers abut the second spacers,wherein said first and second spacers are confined to said first and second portions, respectively, and do not extend into said first and second terminals.
