1. A method for the antimicrobial finishing of textiles, fibers, or yarns which consist essentially of synthetic materials, comprising the step of applying to a textile, fiber, or yarn:

  • an aqueous solution comprising 0.01 to 3% by weight of an organic primer component (P), which increases the hydrophobicity of the surface of the textiles or fibers, wherein the primer component (P) is phenylalanine;

    70 to 99.5% by weight of the solvent water;

    0.1 to 30% by weight of auxiliary components;

    0.01 to 3% by weight of an organic quaternary ammonium compound of the general formula (I) as an antimicrobial component (K)
