1. A method of controlling and managing a plurality of luminaires, comprising:
- sensing, by a sensor of each of the plurality of luminaires, light received by the sensor;
communicating, by a device, with the plurality of luminaires through light pulses that are sensed by the sensors;
commissioning and calibrating the plurality of luminaires using the communication; and
placing, by the device, at least one of the plurality of luminaires on a floor plan through the communication with light pulses, wherein the at least one of the plurality of luminaires identifies itself over a network;
collecting data from the plurality of luminaires;
using the collected data to determine an adjacency of lights and other devices; and
dynamically placing the plurality of lights and other device into zones and binding human interfaces to the zones; and
dynamically configuring the device to control the zones, wherein at least one of the human interfaces comprises the device.
