1. A method of providing access to content comprising:
- receiving an indication of a context associated with interacting with a business object, wherein the indication comprises a broadcasted portal event including a key associated with the business object, a key type, and an event type;
providing, based on the receipt of the indication of the context, to a user access to a context-relevant subset of a body of managed content relevant to the context, wherein the subset is linked to the context by metadata annotated to each of a plurality of content items comprising the subset that associates each of the plurality of content items with the business object in a set of metadata used to manage the body of managed content in a content management system that is separate from an application with which the business object is associated;
receiving an indication of a second context; and
providing, to a second user, access to a second context-relevant subset of the body of managed content, wherein the second context comprises role information associated with the second user, and wherein the first and second subsets provided to the respective first and second users are different when the role information associated with the first user is different from the role information associated with the second user;
wherein the metadata is used to provide automatic access to the content items comprising the subset by using the key associated with the business object to query the content management system to locate content items that the metadata indicates are associated within the content management system with the business object.

12. A system for providing access to content comprising:
-
a processor; and a memory coupled with the processor, wherein the memory is configured to provide the processor with instructions which when executed cause the processor to; receive an indication of a context associated with interacting with a business object, wherein the indication comprises a broadcasted portal event including a key associated with the business object, a key type, and an event type; provide, based on the receipt of the indication of the context, to a user access to a context-relevant subset of a body of managed content relevant to the context, wherein the subset is linked to the context by metadata annotated to each of a plurality of content items comprising the subset that associates each of the plurality of content items with the business object in a set of metadata used to manage the body of managed content in a content management system that is separate from an application with which the business object is associated; receive an indication of a second context; and provide, to a second user, access to a second context-relevant subset of the body of managed content, wherein the second context comprises role information associated with the second user, and wherein the first and second subsets provided to the respective first and second users are different when the role information associated with the first user is different from the role information associated with the second user; wherein the metadata is used to provide automatic access to the content items comprising the subset by using the key associated with the business object to query the content management system to locate content items that the metadata indicates are associated within the content management system with the business object. - View Dependent Claims (13, 14, 15, 16, 17)

18. A computer program product for providing access to content the computer program product being embodied in a non-transitory computer readable storage medium and comprising computer instructions for:
-
receiving an indication of a context associated with interacting with a business object, wherein the indication comprises a broadcasted portal event including a key associated with the business object, a key type, and an event type; providing, based on the receipt of the indication of the context, to a user access to a context-relevant subset of a body of managed content relevant to the context, wherein the subset is linked to the context by metadata annotated to each of a plurality of content items comprising the subset that associates each of the plurality of content items with the business object in a set of metadata used to manage the body of managed content in a content management system that is separate from an application with which the business object is associated; receiving an indication of a second context; and providing, to a second user, access to a second context-relevant subset of the body of managed content, wherein the second context comprises role information associated with the second user, and wherein the first and second subsets provided to the respective first and second users are different when the role information associated with the first user is different from the role information associated with the second user; wherein the metadata is used to provide automatic access to the content items comprising the subset by using the key associated with the business object to query the content management system to locate content items that the metadata indicates are associated within the content management system with the business object. - View Dependent Claims (19)
