1. A method for granting a holder of an electronic device access to an area, comprising:
- receiving, from an electronic device, a unique electronic device identifier that identifies the electronic device;
at least one computer processor comparing the unique electronic device identifier to a list of approved unique electronic device identifiers;
if the unique electronic device identifier is on the list of approved unique electronic device identifiers;
granting the holder of the electronic device access to the area;
the at least one computer processor removing the unique electronic device identifier from the list of approved unique electronic device identifiers;
the at least one computer processor adding the unique electronic device identifier to the list of approved unique electronic device identifiers upon the occurrence of a predetermined event; and
the at least one computer processor charging a transaction account associated with the electronic device a fee for the granted access; and
denying the holder of the electronic device access to the area if the unique electronic device identifier is not on the list of approved electronic device identifiers.

A system and method for granting access to an electronic device is disclosed. The method may include (1) receiving, from an electronic device, a unique identifier that identifies the electronic device; (2) using at least one computer processor, determining if the unique identifier is on an approved list of approved devices; and (3) granting the electronic device access to a network if the unique identifier is on the approved list of approved devices.
