1. An occlusion device for use with a hydraulic deployment system, comprising:

  • an occlusion device having a proximal end portion, said proximal end portion sized for insertion into a lumen of a deployment catheter of a hydraulic deployment system;

    a deformable interference element located on the proximal end portion of the occlusion device, said deformable interference element having an initial configuration and a deformed configuration;

    said deformable interference element comprises a body with an outer surface of a diameter and a deformable radial flare extending radially outward beyond said body outer surface diameter, said deformable radial flare having an initial configuration and a deformed condition;

    said deformable interference element radial flare in its initial configuration engages a lip that is a radially inwardly extending inner surface of a radially inwardly indented distal portion of the deployment catheter, the radially inwardly indented portion having an inner diameter greater than the diameter of the body outer surface of the deformable interference element and less than said deformable radial flare in its initial configuration;

    wherein the radial flare secures the proximal end portion of the occlusion device to the deployment catheter when the radial flare is in the initial configuration; and

    wherein the proximal end portion of the occlusion device is removable from the deployment catheter when the radial flare is in the deformed condition and disengages the lip.
