1. A method of controlling a shovel comprising:
- determining a change in a hydraulic load of a hydraulic pump, which is connected to an internal-combustion engine; and
increasing a load applied to the internal-combustion engine by generating electricity with a generator, which is connected to the internal-combustion engine, before the hydraulic load of the hydraulic pump increaseswherein a supercharge pressure generated by a supercharger, which is provided in the internal-combustion engine, is increased or is maintained to have a value equal to or greater than a predetermined value by increasing an electric generation load of the generator so as to increase the load applied onto the internal-combustion engine.
