1. A method for advancing a device to a desired location in an ear, nose or throat of a patient without removing normal anatomical structures, the method comprising:

  • intraoperatively bending, by a user, a shapeable region of a guide catheter to a desired shape to facilitate advancement of a distal end of the guide catheter to the desired location without removing normal anatomical structures, wherein the shapeable region is located closer to the distal end than to a proximal end of the guide catheter;

    advancing the guide catheter into a head of the patient to position a distal end of the catheter at or near the desired location, wherein the shapeable region retains substantially the desired shape during advancement; and

    advancing a first device through a lumen of the guide catheter to the desired location.
