Abstract

According to a general aspect, a method can include receiving a request, triggered via a consumer account, to access, using a social media application, a plurality of sharer content. The sharer content can be associated with a sharer account using the social media application. The method can include retrieving, in response to the request, a consumer value and a relationship value. The consumer value can represent an interaction with the social media application via the consumer account and the relationship value can characterize a relationship between a consumer identifier of the consumer account and a sharer identifier of the sharer account. The method can include selecting a subset of sharer content from the plurality of sharer content based on a combination of the consumer value and the relationship value, and can include defining a portion of a presentation customized for the consumer account using the selected subset of sharer content.

Claims

1. A computer system including instructions stored on a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium, the computer system comprising:

a presentation module configured to receive a request, triggered via a consumer account, to access using a social media application sharer content associated with a first sharer account of the social media application;

a relationship module configured to access, in response to the request, a first relationship value representing a relationship between a consumer of the consumer account and a first sharer of the first sharer account within a social network the relationship module configured to identify a second relationship value representing a relationship between the consumer and a second sharer of a second sharer account within the social network, the first relationship value and the second relationship value being same; and

a presentation composition module configured to select a subset of the sharer content associated with the first sharer account based on the relationship between the first sharer and the consumer, configured to define a configuration of the subset of the sharer content associated with the first sharer account within a first portion of a presentation based on the relationship between the first sharer and the consumer, and configured to include a reference to sharer content associated with the second sharer account in a second portion of the presentation based on the relationship between the second sharer and the consumer.

2. The computer system of claim 1, further comprising:

a content module configured to retrieve a content value representing a characteristic of the subset of the sharer content associated with the first sharer account; and

wherein the presentation composition module includes the reference to the sharer content associated with the second sharer account having the content value in the second portion of the presentation.

The computer system of claim 1, wherein the characteristic of the subset of the sharer content associated with the first sharer account comprises at least one of a type of the subset of the sharer content, a contextual category associated with the subset of the sharer content and a time that the subset of the sharer content was created.

4. The computer system of claim 1, wherein the presentation composition module is further configured to detect an interaction of the consumer with the first portion of the presentation and define a new portion of the presentation based on the interaction.

5. The computer system of claim 1, wherein the first portion of the presentation has a duration corresponding to a duration of a composition time window.

6. The computer system of claim 1, further comprising:

a consumer module configured to retrieve a plurality of consumer values representing a plurality of interactions with the social media application via the consumer account during a time period occurring before the request is received; and

wherein the presentation composition module is further configured to select the subset of the sharer content associated with the first sharer account and define the configuration of the subset of the sharer content associated with the first sharer account based on a combination of the plurality of consumer values and the first relationship value.

The computer system of claim 6, further comprising a conflict resolution module configured to determine whether there is a conflict in selecting the subset and defining the configuration of the subset based on the combination of the plurality of consumer values and the first relationship value, and to resolve the conflict based at least in part on priorities associated with the plurality of consumer values and the first relationship value.

8. A computer-implemented method comprising:

receiving a request, by one or more processors, triggered via a consumer account, to access using a social media application sharer content associated with a first sharer account of the social media application;

accessing, by the one or more processors, in response to the request, a first relationship value representing a relationship between a consumer of the consumer account and a first sharer of the first sharer account within a social network;

identifying, by the one or more processors, a second relationship value representing a relationship between the consumer and a second sharer of a second sharer account within the social network, the first relationship value and the second relationship value being same;

selecting, by the one or more processors, a subset of the sharer content associated with the first sharer account based on the relationship between the first sharer and the consumer;

defining, by the one or more processors, a configuration of the subset of the sharer content associated with the first sharer account within a first portion of a presentation based on the relationship between the first sharer and the consumer; and

including, by the one or more processors, a reference to sharer content associated with the second sharer account in a second portion of the presentation based on the relationship between the second sharer and the consumer.

9. The method of claim 8, further comprising:

retrieving a content value representing a characteristic of the subset of the sharer content associated with the first sharer account; and

wherein the reference to the sharer content associated with the second sharer account having the content value is included in the second portion of the presentation.

The method of claim 8, wherein the characteristic of the subset of the sharer content associated with the first sharer account comprises at least one of a type of the subset of the sharer content, a contextual category associated with the subset of the sharer content and a time that the subset of the sharer content was created.

11. The method of claim 8, further comprising:

detecting an interaction of the consumer with the first portion of the presentation; and

defining a new portion of the presentation based on the interaction.

12. The method of claim 8, wherein the first portion of the presentation has a duration corresponding to a duration of a composition time window.

13. The method of claim 8, further comprising:

retrieving a plurality of consumer values representing a plurality of interactions with the social media application via the consumer account during a time period occurring before the request is received; and

wherein selecting the subset of the sharer content associated with the first sharer account and defining the configuration of the subset of the sharer content associated with the first sharer account are based on a combination of the plurality of consumer values and the first relationship value.

14. The method of claim 13, further comprising:

determining whether there is a conflict in selecting the subset and defining the configuration of the subset based on the combination of the plurality of consumer values and the first relationship value; and

resolving the conflict based at least in part on priorities associated with the plurality of consumer values and the first relationship value.

15. A computer program product comprising a non-transitory computer useable medium including a computer readable program, wherein the computer readable program when executed on a computer causes the computer to:

receive a request triggered via a consumer account, to access using a social media application sharer content associated with a first sharer account of the social media application;

access, in response to the request, a first relationship value representing a relationship between a consumer of the consumer account and a first sharer of the first sharer account within a social network;

identify a second relationship value representing a relationship between the consumer and a second sharer of a second sharer account within the social network, the first relationship value and the second relationship value being same;

select a subset of the sharer content associated with the first sharer account based on the relationship between the first sharer and the consumer;

define a configuration of the subset of the sharer content associated with the first sharer account within a first portion of a presentation based on the relationship between the first sharer and the consumer; and

include a reference to sharer content associated with the second sharer account in a second portion of the presentation based on the relationship between the second sharer and the consumer.

16. The computer program product of claim 15, wherein the computer readable program when executed on the computer further causes the computer to:

retrieve a content value representing a characteristic of the subset of the sharer content associated with the first sharer account; and

wherein the reference to the sharer content associated with the second sharer account having the content value is included in the second portion of the presentation.

17. The computer program product of claim 15, wherein the characteristic of the subset of the sharer content associated with the first sharer account comprises at least one of a type of the subset of the sharer content, a contextual category associated with the subset of the sharer content and a time that the subset of the sharer content was created.

18. The computer program product of claim 15, wherein the computer readable program when executed on the computer further causes the computer to:

detect an interaction of the consumer with the first portion of the presentation; and

define a new portion of the presentation based on the interaction.

19. The computer program product of claim 15, wherein the first portion of the presentation has a duration corresponding to a duration of a composition time window.

20. The computer program product of claim 15, wherein the computer readable program when executed on the computer further causes the computer to:

retrieve a plurality of consumer values representing a plurality of interactions with the social media application via the consumer account during a time period occurring before the request is received; and

wherein selecting the subset of the sharer content associated with the first sharer account and defining the configuration of the subset of the sharer content associated with the first sharer account are based on a combination of the plurality of consumer values and the first relationship value.

21. The computer program product of claim 20, wherein the computer readable program when executed on the computer further causes the computer to:

determine whether there is a conflict in selecting the subset and defining the configuration of the subset based on the combination of the plurality of consumer values and the first relationship value; and

resolve the conflict based at least in part on priorities associated with the plurality of consumer values and the first relationship value.
