  • combining a first sludge and a second material to form a mixture;

    thermally drying the mixture; and

    pyrolizing the mixture using at least four temperature zones to form the absorbent,wherein each temperature zone is set between about 600°

    C.,wherein at least one temperature zone is set to at least one of about 800°

    C., and about 1000°

    C.,wherein the first sludge is a municipal sludge or an industrial sludge, andwherein the second material is a compost or one of municipal sludge or industrial sludge differing from the first sludge.
