1. An apparatus comprising:
- an implantable housing having an exterior shaped using modeled fluid dynamics;
electronics disposed in the implantable housing;
a battery disposed in the implantable housing, the battery comprising;
at least two cells electrically connected to one another in series, the battery housing having a contoured exterior that approximately conforms to the exterior shape of the implantable housing; and
terminals interconnecting the battery and the electronics.

An example includes apparatus including a non-thin-film battery, that can include an implantable housing, electronics disposed in the implantable housing, and a battery disposed in the implantable housing, the battery comprising: a plurality of cells electrically connected to one another, with at least one cell including a stack including at least one substantially planar anode having a thickness greater than 1 micrometer and at least one substantially planar cathode having a thickness greater than 1 micrometer, and a cell housing enclosing the stack of substantially planar anodes and cathodes and displacing less than approximately 0.024 cubic centimeters, wherein the plurality of cells are interconnected in at least one of series and parallel, and terminals interconnecting the battery and the electronics.

shaping an exterior of a housing of the implantable device, including modeling the exterior; stacking at least one anode with at least one cathode into a stack defining a first cell; stacking at least one anode with at least one cathode to into a stack defining a second cell; disposing the stacks into a cell housing, the cell housing providing a form shaped to fit an interior of the housing of the implantable device; and electrically connecting the first cell to the second cell in a series connection. - View Dependent Claims (12, 13, 14, 15)
