1. A fluid injector system, comprising:

  • a powered injector;

    a pressure jacket support comprising a front plate and a rear plate, wherein the rear plate is connected to the powered injector and the front plate is spaced from the rear plate and has a slot defined therein;

    a syringe pressure jacket having a proximal end pivotally connected to the rear plate so that a distal end of the syringe pressure jacket pivots relative to the front plate; and

    a syringe comprising a syringe body with a distally extending discharge conduit and a conical distal end forming a closed apex point;

    wherein when the syringe is disposed in a barrel of the syringe pressure jacket, pivotal movement of the syringe pressure jacket distal end toward the front plate places the discharge conduit within the slot in the front plate,wherein the front plate defines a mating recess defining an apex curve for the closed apex point such that the closed apex point of the conical distal end is received in the apex curve as the discharge conduit is received in the slot in the front plate,wherein the discharge conduit is offset from a central longitudinal axis of the syringe body, andwherein the pivotal movement of the syringe pressure jacket distal end towards the front plate causes the closed apex point to define an arc path to seat the closed apex point in a central and deepest point in the apex curve in the mating recess, the seated engagement providing a self-centering action for the syringe body to counteract an upward directed force imparted to the syringe body when the syringe is pressurized.
