1. An electrode catheter, comprising:

  • a catheter shaft having a proximal end portion and a distal end portion;

    a positioning magnet body extending along an axis and having a proximal shank portion and a distal portion wherein said shank is coupled to said distal end portion of said catheter shaft, said positioning magnet body including an axially-extending bore;

    an electrode coupled to one of said positioning magnet body and said catheter shaft;

    a tether having a distal end portion coupled to said positioning magnet body and a proximal end wherein said tether extends in a proximal direction, from a point where said distal end portion of said tether is coupled to said positioning magnet body, towards said proximal end portion of said catheter shaft, said tether tethering said positioning magnet body to said distal end portion of said catheter shaft by restraining stretching of said distal end portion of said catheter shaft, said tether comprising a para-aramid synthetic fiber, a portion of said tether extending through said axially-extending bore.
