1. A biosensor for electrochemically measuring a sample, provided with:

  • a first member made of an insulating material;

    an electrode system including a working electrode and a counter electrode formed on the first member;

    a second member fixed over the first member so as to cover at least a part of the electrode system;

    a sample flow channel provided between the first member and the second member to allow communication between the outside and a part of the electrode system covered by the second member;

    a first end located at a downstream side end of the sample flow channel;

    a second end located at an upstream side end of the sample flow channel;

    a first hydrophilic section provided on at least a part which is between the first end and the second end contacting with the second end;

    a flow stop area provided on a section adjacent to the second end on the first member or on the internal surface of the sample flow channel between the first end and the second end to temporarily stop the flow of the sample into the electrode system;

    a sample retaining area which is provided to the first member on an upstream side from the second end, and is for retaining the sample which has been dripped down;

    an introduced piece which is provided extending toward the upstream side from the second end side of the sample flow channel of the second member; and

    a second hydrophilic section which is provided on the surface of the introduced piece which faces to the sample retaining area, and which communicates with the first hydrophilic section,wherein a part of the electrode system is exposed to an inside of the sample flow channel at a downstream side of the first end,wherein the flow stop area is formed of a linear or belt-shaped hydrophobic section which is provided at a downstream side of the sample retaining area so as to stop the sample in a state where it is not contacting the sample flow channel,wherein the introduced piece is formed of a material having elasticity, which is capable of moving between a first position at which the introduced piece is bent so as to be distal from the first member, and a second position at which the introduced piece is in proximity of the first member from the first position, andwherein the second position is a position at which the sample is introduced into the sample flow channel by a capillary action which occurs between the introduced piece and the first member.
